Current Campaign: Vans for Veterans
MCCH has relied on a van to help Veterans move from shelter into a home. They help Veterans achieve goals of health, employment, and independent living. Ready and reliable transport allows Veterans to reengage with community activities and helps them develop social connections again.
Now, after many years of use, the vans need replacement. Will you join the Vans for Veterans Campaign and help Veterans?
Serving Veterans Through Community Partnerships
MCCH’s success in ending Veteran homelessness was a collective effort made possible through the support and partnership of numerous community organizations and individuals. These community efforts were crucial in providing resources and support to Veterans throughout the many steps of moving them from homelessness into a home.
This ongoing shared commitment is vital as MCCH continues to end homelessness for Veterans. Community partners provide a variety of care through meals, personal items, Move In Kits, and financial support. Without these donations and contributions, MCCH’s success for Veterans would not be possible.
MCCH is grateful for the unwavering commitment of our community partners, who enable MCCH to make a difference in the lives of Veterans.

Serving Veterans Through Emergency Shelter
VA Safe Havens
Building upon the success of our original Safe Havens program, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), through the Washington D.C VA Medical Center, awarded MCCH funding in 2014 to provide Safe Havens emergency housing for veterans experiencing homelessness.
Each year, we serve over 55 men and women with severe mental illness in three group residences located in Silver Spring and Laytonville. Learn more about how you can help veterans in our VA Safe Havens program by clicking here.
