Stefanie Rupertus, Program Director, VA Safe Haven and Operation Homecoming

Stefanie Rupertus, LCPC, brings 20 plus years of experience in the mental health field as a program director for Psychiatric and Residential Rehabilitation Programs.  During this time, she oversaw the daily operations of several mental health community residential programs; these programs offered housing in apartment settings and in single family homes purchased through the HUD 811 program that funds housing for persons with disabilities.  Stefanie also was responsible for oversight of a Supported Employment Programs and a Day Program, which served the severe and persistently mentally ill population. The first programs to specifically serve transitional aged youth (18-25 years old) in Montgomery County and in Prince George’s County were under her direction. Stefanie is a Maryland Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Science from The Catholic University of America.
