Lack of affordable housing is the leading cause of homelessness in Montgomery County.
Incorporated in 2005, Coalition Homes (CH), a housing partner of Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH), is the only developer of permanent supportive housing projects in Montgomery County. CH acquires, develops and manages permanent supportive housing to meet the needs of the most vulnerable populations with disabilities. In this capacity, CH plays a crucial role to end homelessness consistent with MCCH's mission of making homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring in Montgomery County. Coalition Home's mission is create, own and operate permanent housing solutions to help end homelessness in Montgomery County.
Coalition Homes currently owns and manages 186 units spread geographically across Montgomery County urban centers, primarily in Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Bethesda, Germantown and Clarksburg. CH tenants include single adults and families, who are living in scattered single and multi-family dwellings, duplexes, condominiums, and townhomes. CH provides 24/7 property management services in coordination with support services from MCCH.
