In addition to donating and serving meals and collecting items our clients need, MCCH offers several volunteer opportunities for our supporters.

Become a Healthy Food Every Day Volunteer
The Healthy Food Every Day Program connects MCCH families and individuals to food assistance programs in our county by using volunteers to transport the food. Food insecurity is a real and significant threat to moving forward and many who have exited homelessness are at risk. Volunteers can play a key role in ensuring MCCH clients have the healthy food they need every day. To get involved, please submit a MCCH Volunteer Application and include note that you're interested in the Healthy Food Every Day Program.
Host an Action and Awareness Event
An Action and Awareness Event is an ongoing opportunity for companies and organizations at their location. These events consist of two segments: helping to build awareness about homelessness and providing an activity that will benefit the clients we serve. The first segment fosters awareness about the issue of homelessness in our county and the ways MCCH is working to address it. It’s followed by the group completing a project, such as making bagged lunches for the men at our shelter. For this activity, groups have the supplies on site and MCCH transports the completed lunches directly to the shelter.
We are offering virtual Action and Awareness events due to COVID-19. Contact us to request more information about Action and Awareness Events and see if this is a good match for your organization.
Be a "Back to Work" Mentor
This opportunity is on hold due to COVID-19.
We welcome organized groups to take on this task. This is a great “team-building” activity, and your work helps our clients be good neighbors!
Many of our residents do not own the supplies needed to properly maintain their yards, and may have physical or other disabilities that keep them from being able to perform yard work. Your landscaping project not only gives them greater self-esteem as a resident, but allows them to live with greater dignity. Most of these opportunities are paused due to COVID-19.
